Join us for a Community Conversation on The Will of the People: How We Vote and Why It Matters with CU Professor Jeanne Clelland Sunday, November 10, 2:00-3:30pm Boulder Public Library Boulder Creek Room 1001 Arapahoe Avenue Boulder, CO Sponsored by LWVBC's Voting Methods Team We tend to think of elections in simple terms: Everyone votes for their favorite candidate, and the candidate with the most votes wins. For elections with only two candidates, this works perfectly well. But as soon as there are three or more candidates, it gets complicated: What if no candidate receives a majority of the votes? In this talk I will describe several possible approaches to this problem, along with some of their advantages and disadvantages, including some political implications of various options.
