Protecting the Civil Rights of Immigrants

     Tuesday, June 9, 2026
     6:30 - 7:30pm (via Zoom)

Don't miss this discussion with immigration attorney Hans Meyer's about protecting the civil rights of our immigrant neighbors in Colorado.

Free and open to the public.

Also, please consider taking action:

Upcoming events:

  • AFSC and Shut Down GEO Mother’s Day-themed vigil – May 6, 6pm. Hosted outside GEO at 3130 N Oakland St. in Aurora, CO. Vigils are hosted on the south side of the facility. Vigils also occur each Wednesday at 6pm.
  • The Shut Down GEO Aurora Campaign presents a fundraiser and film screening of "And Water Brings Tomorrow" at the Sie Film Center – May 21, 6:30pm with happy hour at 5pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
  • Anti-July 4th event at Levitt Pavilion in Denver (details TBD).

Volunteer opportunities:

  • Casa de Paz has accessible opportunities, including pen pals. GEO does accept mail and this is a nice way for folks across the state to connect with someone inside. All volunteers have to complete their online training, but pen pals can be located anywhere.
  • Volunteer with Housekeys Action Network Denver (HAND) - this is more direct support and geared towards people who live in the Denver/Metro area. Folks can reach out to V Reeves at HAND if they are interested in this.
  • Donate to HAND or host a fundraiser for their fund that supports rental and housing assistance for families and individuals impacted by detention.
