What to do?
Volunteer to write post cards in support of Colorado adopting the National Popular Vote so every person’s vote, in every state, will count equally in the race for president.
Who?
The League of Women Voters of Boulder County is a non-partisan, political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
Why?
Since 1970, the League of Women Voters of the United States has supported the direct popular vote method for electing the President and Vice-President. In 2010, the LWVUS adopted support of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact as an acceptable way to achieve the goal of the direct popular vote for election of the president and vice-president.
In support of this position, the League of Women Voters of Boulder County is actively supporting the Yes On National Popular Vote campaign by handwriting a short, personal note on postcards to registered Coloradans to vote yes in support of the referendum on their November 2020 ballot. Studies have shown handwritten correspondence from a fellow citizen is an extremely effective way to encourage other voters to consider a targeted action.
