Action Alert to LWVBC members

Show Up at Longmo
nt City Council Tuesday Sept 3, 2019 at 7 p.m. to Demonstrate Your Support for a Living Wage Increase for City Contract Employees!

This Tuesday evening Longmont city council begins its 2020 budget discussions, focusing on employee wages. LWVBC is a founding member of the Longmont Living Wage Coalition (LLWC) which has been meeting for over a year with city council members. We want the 2020 budget to include wage increases for custodians and landscape workers who are employed by city contractors.

By your attending the meeting from 7 - 8:30 p.m., we can show council that the LLW Coalition represents dozens of people who strongly support these wage increases. You don't have to be a Longmont resident to attend. All are welcome!

Despite the short notice, please make an effort to show up! Legislators notice audience size. Your presence will make a difference!

Where: Longmont City Council Chambers, Civic Center, 350 Kimbark St., Longmont 80501.

When: 7 - 8:15 or 8:30 p.m.

Questions: email Mary Ann Wilner, mawilner3951@comcast.net.

Your job: We will have one speaker from the LLW coalition speak during the open comment period, early in the meeting. The speaker will refer to all the supporters in the room and ask you to stand.
