Focus of the International Relations Committee

The committee informs Boulder County LWV members about national LWV educational updates and calls to action. LWV's work centers on our extensive national positions and history of involvement in five areas of International Relations:

International Trade
United Nations
U.S. Relations With Developing Countries
Arms Control
Military Policy and Defense Spending

Nationally, the LWV has official NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) status at the UN and is represented by two official UN Observers. Among other duties, the League's UN Observers update LWV members and the public through the year about UN activities.

Local Activities

Every October in Boulder County, the LWVBC is among the many cosponsors of the traditional countywide United Nations Day celebration of the UN's birthday (October 24th).

Our committee helps plan the interesting and informative presentations for the annual event.

Like all League Issue Committees, we welcome any member to be a participant, and you don't have to be an expert to join us. Contact Chair International Relations Committee
