Our speaker, Emma Ruffin, is director of the Climate Culture Collaborative C3 Boulder.

C3 Boulder
seeks to build
community engagement and connectivity around climate action in Boulder, Colorado. Read more about C3 Boulder.

A 2014 graduate of CU Boulder, Ms. Ruffin has served as a fellow with MIT's Climate CoLab Program. She currently finds her free time filled with scribing, art, gardening, soccer, and volunteering with the Global Shapers Boulder Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum driven by 20-somethings dedicated to creating positive change in their communities.

She employs permaculture principles* and Theory U** into her everyday work, art and play.

    *Permaculture
is a creative design process based on whole-systems thinking informed by ethics and design principles that guide us to mimic the patterns and relationships we can find in nature. This approach can be applied to all aspects of human habitation, from agriculture to ecological building, from appropriate technology to education and even economics.

**Theory U is a change management method to improve Unproductive patterns of behavior.
